Water Crisis

It’s hard to believe one family in three in India struggles to put clean water on the table. But it’s true. In low-income communities throughout South India, dirty water is a fact of life. That’s why the South Asia Pure Water Initiative, Inc., (SAPWII, pronounced “sap-wee”) supports a point-of-use water filter that delivers clean water to families and children.

The Need.

The Need

2.6 billion people lack access to clean water for drinking, cooking or basic sanitation, according to United Nations research. The economic – and social – impact is staggering.

Our Initiatives.

Our Initiatives

SAPWII is working to change that. Our Bio-Sand Filter project in Kolar District, Karnataka, India has delivered drinkable water to thousands who didn’t have it.
